DeMarcus Cousins produced a dominant performance to will the New Orleans Pelicans to a double-overtime win over the Chicago Bulls on Monday night. The big man put together not only one of the best individual displays of the season, but one of the best in NBA history.Cousins tallied a remarkable triple-double of 44 points, 24 rebounds, and 10 assists as the Pelicans outlasted the Bulls to win 132-128 in a dramatic matchup. He shot 13-of-29 from the field and logged a career-high 52 minutes. With his incredible stat line, the center became just the fifth player ever to record such a game. The last to do so was Kareem Abdul-Jabbar back in 1972. The only other players to have produced these numbers are Wilt Chamberlain, Elgin Baylor and Oscar Robertson, which is not bad company to keep.

"You dream about moments like that as a kid -- a game coming down to the line and just making big plays down the stretch," Cousins said, per ESPN. "I think we just willed our way through this game."

Boogie's performance was so good that it practically made Anthony Davis' 34 points, nine rebounds and five assists irrelevant.

AD - who fouled out in the first overtime - described his teammate's huge night as "legendary" and he gave his frontcourt partner a warm embrace at the end of the game.

"He played his heart out," Davis said.

Including this game, Cousins is the first player since Moses Malone in 1981-82 to post three games of at least 40 points and 20 boards in a single season as he continues to stuff the stat sheet on a nightly basis.

As you'd expect, the 28-year-old's historic night drew many reactions across social media:

The four-time All-Star joked that he was most proud of his stamina and how he managed to last the entire game without breaking down.

"My strength coach had the nerve to ask me, do I want to lift after this game? I almost lost it. If I had some energy, we would have fought," Cousins said. "I'm just glad it's over. Seriously. I think [the Bulls] feel the same way, too."

The former Sacramento Kings star continues what has been a terrific campaign for him, where he's averaging 25.6 points, 12.9 rebounds 5.2 assists and 1.5 blocks per game.

He has also been named as an All-Star starter for the first time in his career and he's finally maturing into the superstar that we all knew he could be.

New Orleans took a gamble with their trade for him last year but they knew the talent he had and he's rewarding them for their decision.

But with the veteran set to hit free agency in the summer, performances of this nature will make it difficult for the Pelicans to hold onto him as he'll definitely attract many suitors.

For now, however, they can continue to enjoy his skills as they look poised to return to the playoffs this year.
