The 2018 NBA All-Star lineup is set as both the starters and reserves have been announced for this year's showpiece in Los Angeles. The list of 24 players includes the obvious superstars and some exciting new faces such as Joel Embiid, Karl-Anthony Towns, Victor Oladipo, Kristaps Porzingis and Bradley Beal. But as always, there are a number of deserving players who didn't make the cut and will not feature at Staples Center next month which has caused quite a stir. Here are the five biggest All-Star snubs this year:

Paul George

The Oklahoma City Thunder forward has seen his numbers dip this season but that was to be expected as he adjusted to a new role alongside Russell Westbrook and Carmelo Anthony.

His offensive production has been inconsistent but the same can't be said for his work on the defensive end. PG13 is second in the league in steals with 2.11 per game.

The 27-year-old has been outstanding defensively for OKC and has firmly established himself as an elite three-and-D player. He's shooting 42.2 percent from three-point range and is still posting a respectable 20.9 points, which makes him the second-leading scorer on his team.

Andre Drummond

After a disappointing season last year, Drummond has returned to his best and he's extremely unfortunate not to be considered an All-Star.

He leads the league in rebounds with 15 per game and is also contributing 14.3 points and a career-high 3.5 assists.

The 24-year-old has been one of the best defenders in the league and his angry reaction on Twitter is certainly justified based on his numbers.

Lou Williams

The Los Angeles Clippers shooting guard is having the best season of his career and has put the team in playoff contention despite all the injuries they've had to deal with all year.

The veteran is putting up career-highs of 23.3 points and 5.1 assists a night. He's had to take on a bigger role with the Clips and he's excelled.

Williams has been on fire in the last month and even dropped 50 points on the Golden State Warriors. Unfortunately for him, he's in a conference stacked with talented guards and the coaches ultimately felt they couldn't leave any of them out in favour of him.

Chris Paul

CP3 has played 28 games which may have cost him a place on the All-Star team but his huge impact on the Rockets should have been factored in.

He has been sensational when he's been healthy and on the floor for Houston posting 19.1 points, 8.9 assists and 5.9 rebounds. With him in the lineup, they're 23-5.

With Paul, James Harden and Clint Capela together they're a perfect 17-0. 28 games is still more than half the amount they've played this year and he's helped to create one of the most potent offences in the league. His omission is certainly one of the biggest surprises.

Ben Simmons

The young Aussie's form has tailed off recently but he's still been performing at a good level for most of the year and his numbers remain impressive.

The Sixers point guard is almost averaging a triple-double with 16.3 points, 7.9 rebounds and 7.2 assists. He has taken the league by storm in his rookie campaign and has been a huge factor behind Philadelphia's rise.

His snub isn't as big as the aforementioned players as he'll be gracing All-Star games throughout his career but his mature displays at the age of 21 certainly deserve mentioning and he would've been a fun player to watch in L.A.
