WWE officials had an interesting idea for this role.

As seen on this week’s episode of 205 Live on the WWE Network, SmackDown General Manager Daniel Bryan announced that Enzo Amore has ‘abdicated’ the Cruiserweight Title.

Also, Bryan said that they will soon crown a new Cruiserweight champion and a new 205 Live GM would be named next week. That person would move forward with a plan to crown a new champion.

If you recall, Amore was slated to defend the title against Cedric Alexander at the upcoming Royal Rumble pay-per-view event takes place on Sunday, January 28, 2018 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania at the Wells Fargo Center and will air on the WWE Network and some traditional pay-per-view outlets.

Both Raw and SmackDown brands will be featured.Obviously, those plans have been axed.

Dave Meltzer reported in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that The sports entertainment company had talked about the idea Of having a new general manager for the show for months now.

At one point, WWE officials brought up the consideration of having summer Rae In that spot.

However, that idea was nixed due to the fact that she was taller than most of the male wrestlers in the division and obviously that would not look right on camera. The funny thing is that she she was released from the company.

Before she became a WWE superstar, she played the Chicago Bliss of the Legends Football League. In 2011, she signed a contract with WWE and was assigned to their developmental territory Florida Championship Wrestling.

Rae made her television debut on the December 18 episode of FCW TV by appearing in an in-ring promo with Abraham Washington. Moving along to 2013, Rae competed in the NXT Women's Championship tournament on the June 19 episode of NXT to crown the inaugural champion and defeated Sasha Banks in the first round.

However, she lost to Emma in the semi-finals on July 10. Rae made her official debut on WWE's main roster on the April 22, 2013, episode of Raw, as Fandango's dance partner and valet.

Rae never won a title both on the main roster and in NXT. The sports entertainment company went back and forth with her as a manager and wrestler. Rae was drafted to Raw as part of the 2016 WWE draft. However, she never appeared for the brand due to injuries.

Bryan Alvarez noted on Wrestling Observer Live that he was told that the role would be filled by a former WWE star that we haven’t heard from in a long time.
