Last Sunday, the New England Patriots earned their spot in the Super Bowl this season with a win over the Jacksonville Jaguars in the AFC Championship game. They will against the Philadelphia Eagles at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, Minnesota on February 4, a rematch of Super Bowl XXXIX of the 2004 season.

Brady completed 26-of-38 passing attempts for 290 yards and two touchdowns on the day, helping the Patriots accomplish a 24-20 come-from-behind triumph at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough after being 20-10 down at one point in the fourth quarter.

The five-time Super Bowl champion has now helped New England reach their tenth Super Bowl in franchise history, and their eighth Super Bowl with him as their quarterback. Yet, despite many regarding him as one of the greatest quarterbacks of all time, many people are tired of seeing him and the Patriots play in the league's biggest game of the year.

Speaking on Inside the NFL on Tuesday, New York Giants wide receiver Brandon Marshall reflected on the Patriots dominance for the past decade. The team has qualified for eight Super Bowls in the Tom Brady-Bill Belichick era and 12 AFC Championship games. They’ve reached the AFC title game for the past seven years straight and have played in four of the last seven Super Bowls.

The wide receiver said, via WEEI, that the NFL needs to be more competitive in order to dethrone New England and stop them from reaching the Super Bowl every year.

Marshall said: “The league is not competitive. We all should be ashamed. Even you guys covering them on TV should be ashamed. Players should be ashamed, coaches should be ashamed, owners should be ashamed.

"How do we let these guys do this year in and year out? Congratulations. You guys are phenomenal. You can’t get any better. But how do 31 other organizations let this happen? I know Ray (Lewis) is going to say, ‘I won a Super Bowl. I did my job.’ You should have won five.”

In the past ten years, only seven teams from the AFC have played in the AFC Championship game, whereas in the NFC, in the same time period, 11 teams have played in the NFC Championship game.

Since 2013, eight teams have played in the NFC title game, but in the AFC, that number is only five, with the Patriots being one of those teams in each of those games. Therefore, the problem may lie in the strength of the organizations in the AFC, rather than the NFL itself.
