Notts County striker Luke Rodgers is on the verge of a move to MLS club New York Red Bulls.

The 28-year-old could play his last game for the Magpies against Lincoln at Meadow Lane on Tuesday night after manager Steve Cotterill confirmed that a deal is close.

"We are in the throes of finalising things," said Cotterill. "It is not 100% yet. There are a few more details that need to be tied up. If it happens, he will still be involved on Tuesday and it will happen after then."

Rodgers joined Notts on a free transfer from Yeovil last summer and has scored 10 goals for the club. His potential new club are managed by former County boss Hans Backe.
