The Royal Rumble takes place this weekend at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia and with the six matches currently scheduled for the event, it looks like it could be a very entertaining pay-per-view to kick off the Road to WrestleMania. As well as the two Royal Rumble matches (men’s and women’s), four championship matches will take place on the show.

Brock Lesnar will defend the Universal title vs Braun Strowman and Kane in a triple threat match, AJ Styles will face Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn in a 2-on-1 handicap match with the WWE title on the line, Seth Rollins and Jason Jordan will defend the Raw Tag Team titles against Cesaro and Sheamus, and The Usos will put the SmackDown Tag Team titles on the line against Chad Gable and Sheldon Benjamin in a 2-out-of-3-falls match.

Taking into account the surprise entrants expected in the Royal Rumble matches alongside these championship matches, and the Royal Rumble looks like it could be a very exciting pay-per-view, especially if the rumors that a WWE legend could be appearing at the event are true.

According to Dave Meltzer on the latest installment of Wrestling Observer Live, via Ringside News, The Undertaker could be making a surprise appearance in the men’s Royal Rumble match this weekend.

Meltzer couldn’t confirm if this was the direction WWE was going in, as he believes it’s a bit odd that the company hasn’t advertised The Deadman for the event. However, Bryan Alvarez countered this claim, as he stated the selling point these days in the WWE is the event, not the talent.

If The Undertaker does appear in the Royal Rumble this Sunday, this could be where WWE finally starts the feud between him and John Cena which will culminate in a dream match between the two at WrestleMania 34 later this year in New Orleans.

Many WWE fans thought the company would start the feud between Cena and The Deadman this week at Raw 25, but this didn’t happen as Monday Night Raw was the only opportunity for WWE to set up the Cena vs Elias feud, which is being booked because of Samoa Joe’s recent injury.

This feud was always going to be booked to keep The Leader of the Cenation occupied until he starts his feud with The Phenom.

If this report is true, WWE fans will not have to wait much longer before the seeds are planted for Cena vs The Undertaker, as it could happen at the Royal Rumble this weekend.
