Alexis Sanchez could make his Manchester United debut in this evening’s FA Cup fourth round tie against Yeovil Town.

The Chilean forward completed his switch from Arsenal this week and has had to put up with being labelled a mercenary for choosing Man United over Manchester City.

The Red Devils are paying £350,000-per-week which is more than their neighbours were willing to offer the 29-year-old.

And in the eyes of many, he’s chosen money over success.

“Sanchez has got to be the biggest mercenary in football,” Keown wrote in a Daily Mail Q&A.

Sanchez will deny those claims - he tweeted an article from the Daily Mail that argued against suggests he is a money-grabber - but someone else who shares the same opinion as Keown is heavyweight boxer Tony Bellew.

Bellew has given his honest opinion on Sanchez

Writing in his column for the Metro, Bellew said that Sanchez “couldn’t give a s*** about Manchester United”, but that won’t stop him from performing.

But according to Bellew, that’s the same for pretty much every footballer.

“Sanchez doesn’t care about whether he’s playing under Jose Mourinho or Pep Guardiola,” Bellew wrote. “The difference between those two was he would get an extra £200,000 a week under Mourinho.

“Players have a short window that they work in. Alexis Sanchez couldn’t give a s*** about Manchester United.

"He could care less, that doesn’t mean he won’t perform for them. He’ll go out there and do his job. He’s an amazing footballer and will do amazing things there.

“But, has he grown up in Manchester? No. Does he know about the history of that club? No.

“Unless you’ve got homegrown talent, all players are basically just mercenaries.

“Once a player is at a club for over five years, then maybe you can say he knows the club, he loves the club.

“When he’s just in from another club, he’s just a hired gun. Sanchez is no different.

“United will find that out when one of theirs insists on leaving, like Cristiano Ronaldo once did.”

Bellew believes Sanchez will be a great addition to Jose Mourinho’s squad.

“Manchester United have just got themselves a potentially title-winning player for next season,” the British boxer, a keen Everton fan, added.

“Of course, it all depends on how Alexis Sanchez adapts, but I can only see one outcome and that’s goals, goals and more goals.”
