Only time will tell whether Arsenal made the right decision to send Alexis Sanchez to Manchester United in return for Henrikh Mkhitaryan. While Sanchez is a world-class player through and through, there are a few doubts about Mkhitaryan following a tough couple of years up north. When he's confident and playing at his best, though, the Armenian is most certainly a world-class playmaker. In his final season at Borussia Dortmund in 2015/16, Mkhitaryan scored 11 goals and provided a further 15 assists - all from midfield.Alongside Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who is also rumoured with a move to Arsenal, Mkhitaryan formed one of Europe's most deadly partnerships.Mkhitaryan could make his bow as an Arsenal player next Tuesday away to Swansea and, in truth, he couldn't have hoped for a much easier opponent on his debut.Arsenal fans will only hope he's able to gel quickly with his new teammates and somewhat fill Sanchez's shoes.Jose Mourinho actually believes Mkhitaryan will be better for Arsenal than for United and now Alan Shearer has given his take on Arsenal signing the 29-year-old as Sanchez's replacement. And as always, the Match of the Day pundit has pretty much nailed it.Shearer believes Arsenal made the right decision shipping Sanchez, who didn't want to be there, and signing a player like Mkhitaryan who suits their style of play.Asked by Coral who got the better deal, Shearer said: "Well, Arsenal have got rid of a player (Sanchez) who didn't want to be there - albeit a very, very good player."Manchester United have got rid of a player (Mkhitaryan) whose face didn't really fit. I saw the ability he had at Dortmund and it never really replicated at Old Trafford, for various reasons."Sometimes your face just doesn't fit at a particular football club. He wasn't the type of player Jose [Mourinho] wanted and it just didn't work out.

"I'm sure they he'll have a new lease of life at Arsenal. He'll feel wanted; he'll feel more important than he did at Old Trafford.

"For that we should see a better player in an Arsenal shirt than we did in the Man Utd shirt."

Mkhitaryan showed his quality in bursts at United, but ultimately he was playing for the wrong manager in the wrong set up.

Arsenal and Arsene Wenger, on the other hand, are perfect for the Armenia international and can help him rediscover his best form.
