Manager Nigel Clough is targeting five or six new signings for Derby this summer.

Clough also expects the same number of players to leave the club in what he calls 'inevitable' changes to his squad.

Last summer, Clough brought in five players while the number of departures since his arrival as manager is in double figures.

However, this time round he insists the number of players he needs to ship out is not as heavy.

"It will be an inevitable change of personnel which will take place. Five or six will come in and five or six will go out as well," Clough told the club's official website.

"I think that is justified from the season we have had and I think we are close on two or three coming in already."

He added: "We don't want to conduct a massive overhaul, that is not the way to evolve a squad. We will try to improve with the players we are aiming to bring in.

"Over the past 12 months we have put our house in order to a large degree so we aren't under any pressure to sell."
