Arsenal's pursuit of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang looks set to go down to the wire this month.

The Gabonese international has emerged into one of the best strikers in Europe in the past few years, and Arsene Wenger clearly been taking note.

The Frenchman has made Aubameyang his number one target this month, but so far he has not been able to get a deal over the line.

It has been reported that the 28-year-old is open to a move to London, but Dortmund's asking price remains the stalling point in the potential transfer.

Wenger's side have already had a bid rejected in excess of £50 million, but it has been suggested that the German club will accept an offer of £60 million - a fee that many Arsenal's fans have urged their manager to pay.

DORTMUND FANS UNVEIL BANNER DIRECTED AT AUBAMEYANG

Aubameyang's antics have not gone done well in Germany, and the transfer saga forced the Gabonese striker to miss out on Dortmund's game against Hertha Berlin last Friday.

But the former Milan forward made his return to the starting line-up today against Freiberg, but he would not have liked what he saw when he stepped onto the field at the Signal Iduna Park.

The Dortmund fans have made their opinions known about the transfer saga - unveiling a banner  directed at their star striker which read: "No player is bigger than the club."

This potentially comes as good news to Arsenal fans, who will be glad to see the Dortmund crowd turning on their striker.

If anything, this will only make Aubameyang want to make the switch to Arsenal even more.

DORTMUND CHIEFS ISSUE STATEMENT BEFORE GAME V FREIBERG

After rejecting two bids for Aubameyang from Arsenal in the past few weeks, Dortmund chiefs issued another statement before Saturday's game.

Michael Zorc, Dortmund's sports manager, issued an ultimatum to Wenger, claiming that they are willing to sell their striker, but only if their demands are met.

"We are prepared to implement a transfer under certain parameters - but only if these parameters are fully met," Zorc said.

"Arsenal has started several attempts so far. We have all rejected so far.

"Either our demands are fulfilled, then there can be another transfer or else they will not be fulfilled and Auba will play in Dortmund until the summer, so it is also discussed and accepted by the Aubameyang family."

With only four days left of the transfer window, Wenger will have to move fast if he is to complete a deal for his number one target.

But after Dortmund fans made their feelings known today, that will only serve as encouragement for Wenger as he attempts to make a deal for the world-class forward.
