Michel wins red card appeal

Birmingham midfielder Michel has won his appeal against a red card handed out in last week's reserve clash with Chelsea.

The 24-year-old was dismissed by referee Marvyn Amphlett late on for serious foul play, and would have missed the Blues' Barclays Premier League matches with Aston Villa, Burnley and Bolton.

But after Birmingham submitted written and video evidence to support their case, the Football Association have upheld the claim for wrongful dismissal and withdrawn the suspension.

Michel has just started to make a name for himself with the club, starting on his last two outings at Portsmouth and Sunderland last month after five substitute appearances since his debut in January.
