Chelsea midfielder Charly Musonda recently joined Celtic on an 18-month loan after failing to break into the first team under Antonio Conte.

The highly-rated 21-year-old joined Chelsea in 2012 along with his two older brothers Tika and Lamisha - who both failed to ever make a senior appearance in west London.

Musonda has only played 34 minutes of Premier League football this season and has gone north to Scotland to prove himself.

"I feel really good," Musonda told CelticTV upon signing. "Massive club, really looking forward to it. I'm very lucky to be here and I'm very happy to be here.

"It's going to be unreal to play at Celtic Park. Hopefully I can do well for the team."

Musonda recently signed a contract extension at Chelsea which ties him to the club until 2022, suggesting that he hopes to "stay here permanently."

"I came here very young and am very happy to continue my journey here," said Musonda. "I love this club so it’s a great moment for me and my family. Now I want to establish myself and progress into the team and stay here permanently."

Just seven weeks later, the young Belgian was shipped out on a long-term loan.

What happened to Tika and Lamisha

Musonda has complained about his lack of playing-time at Stamford Bridge but he's had it good compared to his older brothers.

Lamisha Musonda and Tika Musonda signed for Chelsea from Anderlecht along with Charly five-and-a-half-years-ago.

They are now 25 and 24 respectively and their careers have certainly not panned out quite how they would've hoped.

Lamisha

Chelsea sold Musonda to KV Mechelen in January 2014 but he only made two Belgian Pro League appearances before they released him just months later in July 2014.

The Belgian U21 international was without a club for the years, until Spanish third tier club Llagostera signed him for their reserve team in August 2017.

Tika

The 24-year-old brother has not fared much better.

In 2014, the talented midfielder suffered a horrific injury in Chelsea training - dislocating his knee, and tearing his ACL, MCL, and PCL.

Capped for the Zambian national team, he was released by Chelsea after finishing his rehab in 2016 and also signed for Llagostera alongside his brother in August.

Neither of them are yet to feature for the Llagostera first team in the third tier of Spanish football.

"We’ve always come as a package deal," said Tika in 2015. "When I was 15 years old, we were all playing for the Anderlecht youth system and for the Belgian national youth teams.

"Eventually, Chelsea came to my parents in 2012, wanting to sign all three of us. When a club like Chelsea knocks on your door, you just have to say yes."
