Say what you like about Neymar off the pitch at Paris Saint-Germain but when the Brazilian has crossed the white line, he's been on a different planet.Neymar shocked the footballing world when he swapped Barcelona for the French capital this summer and his transfer fee of £196 million certainly piled on the pressure. Rumours of him taking outrageous liberties at the club and a reported feud with Edinson Cavani haven't eased proceedings either. When you look at the statistics, though, it seems he's been worth every penny and moment of drama. In 25 appearances for PSG, Neymar has accumulated 26 goals, 14 assists and an average match rating of 9.06 according to WhoScored.com. Not bad going, huh?It was normal service resumed for Neymar in his latest appearance for PSG, too. The Parisians made the trip to the Stade de la Route de Lorient for a Coupe de la Ligue semi-final that quickly evolved into a five goal thriller.

Rennes 2-3 Paris Saint-Germain

Thomas Meunier propelled PSG into an early lead with a spectacular volley before Marquinhos doubled the advantage just after half-time.

The game looked to have escaped Rennes when Giovani Lo Celso made it 3-0 to PSG after a catastrophic error from Abdoulaye Diallo. However, the home side fought back after Kylian Mbappe received a red card, by VAR decision, for a terrible foul.

Debutant Diafra Sakho and Sanjin Prcic rallied for Rennes but the visitors hung on for a 3-2 victory and a place in the final.

Neymar taking the mickey

There were no goals or assists for Neymar in the 90 minutes yet his unrivalled class remained apparent throughout, including a viral moment of control and brilliance.

The 25-year-old wowed Twitter with a seemingly trivial phase of play. Neymar spectacularly controlled a long pass with his back and flicked the ball over a defender before being hacked to the ground.

Check out the moment of class below:

You can certainly relate with the rash defender after seeing that flash of nonchalance.

It goes to show just how at home Neymar is in France, dismissed by many as a weaker league for a player tipped as a future Ballon d'Or winner. You can't say he isn't enjoying his football, though, and we can't really complain when he's delivering such brilliant moments.

Whether such effortless skill will transfer to the Champions League and two mega clashes with Real Madrid remains to be seen but as long as Neymar keeps performing on the pitch, all the gossip and rumours will seem insignificant.
