FA panel overturn Lisbie red card

Published Add your comment

Colchester striker Kevin Lisbie has successfully appealed against his midweek sending-off at Charlton.

The Ipswich loanee was given his marching orders after clashing with Addicks skipper Nicky Bailey and was facing a three-match ban for violent conduct. However, the FA appeals panel have reviewed the incident and overturned the red card meaning Us boss Aidy Boothroyd has his top scorer available for the promotion run-in.

"The FA and referees get a lot of bad press but a lot of the time it is totally unjustified, and when you get a result like this common sense prevails," said Boothroyd.
