Hartlepool defender Sam Collins is a doubt for the home game with promotion-chasing Colchester.
Collins, who has been in great form this season, was forced off at half-time in Tuesday's 3-0 win over Stockport after injuring his hip in a collision with County's goalkeeper and is struggling to be fit.
Ben Clark came on for Collins and will be in line to take his starting place if the centre-half fails to recover in time.
Gary Liddle is back in contention for selection after completing his two-match ban for receiving 10 yellow cards.
Hartlepool have opened up a seven-point gap between them and the relegation places in recent weeks and Chris Turner's side will be looking to continue their push up the table.
Kevin Lisbie will be in the Colchester squad.
The striker was sent off during Tuesday night's defeat at his former club Charlton but the FA have overturned the red card.
Colchester's trip to The Valley still proved costly, though, after midfielder John-Joe O'Toole suffered a cruciate injury which will rule him out for up to nine months.
Winger Anthony Wordsworth is still suspended having picked up a two-game ban for collecting 10 yellow cards this season.
Boss Aidy Boothroyd has recalled Simon Hackney from his loan at Morecambe to provide midfield cover and he will travel.
Defender Franck Queudrue could return after a hamstring strain but striker Kayode Odejayi is still struggling with a foot injury.
