Scunthorpe could be boosted by the return of Marcus Williams and Sam Togwell for the home clash with Bristol City.

Defender Williams was rested for last weekend`s trip to Preston while midfielder Togwell has been sidelined for the last two weeks with a groin complaint. However, they both trained on Thursday and should be included in Nigel Adkins` squad.

Top-scorer Gary Hooper will again line-up for the Iron after coming through the trip to Deepdale unscathed.

Adkins is desperate for his side`s impressive fitness levels to pay dividends against in-form City after their disappointing defeat against Darren Ferguson`s men.

"Darren Ferguson, after the game last Saturday, praised us for being a fit side and also praised us for being on top of them physically, which proves we are a fit side. But it is all about winning games of football," he told the club`s official website.

"We have a group of players who want to be out there playing for us."

Bristol City winger Jamal Campbell-Ryce will miss the trip to Scunthorpe.

Campbell-Ryce limped out of last Saturday's narrow win over Swansea just after the hour mark with a hamstring injury.

Ivan Sproule impressed after coming on to replace him and will now be pushing for a starting place.

Goalkeeper Dean Gerken should come into contention after recovering from a collarbone injury but he is unlikely to replace Stephen Henderson, who kept a clean sheet against the Swans.

Meanwhile, long-term absentees Jamie McAllister (calf), James Wilson and Jamie McCombe (both knee) remain on the sidelines.

The in-form Robins are looking to extend their six-match unbeaten run under caretaker manager Keith Millen which has seen them move to within six points of the play-off places.
