After failing in a loan move for him earlier in the season, Reading could be back in the hunt for Peterborough's Craig Mackail-Smith.

The Royals saw a move for the 26-year-old turned down in February, as did Championship rivals Leicester and Watford.

Manager Brian McDermott told the Reading Evening Post: "We'll see what happens in the future. He's a good player. He's done well, but we need to be very respectful of him, as we do of Peterborough as a team."
