It’s been a whirlwind week for Michy Batshuayi.Five days ago he was celebrating after scoring a brace in Chelsea’s 3-0 win over Newcastle United in the FA Cup. Three days later he was a Borussia Dortmund player after signing a loan deal with the Bundesliga club. And on Friday night he made his debut against FC Koln.As debuts go, Batshuayi’s could hardly have been more perfect. The 24-year-old scored a goal either side of half-time, putting Dortmund ahead on both occasions, and then assisted the winner for Andre Schurrle with five minutes remaining.Final score: 3-2 Dortmund, whose supporters have a new hero in Batshuayi, the man who has come in until the end of the season to replace Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. There was a huge reaction to Batshuayi’s performance last night - click HERE to see what football fans were all saying about the Belgium international - and it didn’t take long after the final whistle for the Chelsea loanee to take to Twitter.
Batshuayi posts funny tweet after Dortmund debut
Batshuayi has developed a reputation in England as being a bit of a joker on social media - and that’s one of the reasons why he’s so popular.
It will almost certainly be a similar story with German football fans. His Twitter game is too good not to win them over.
Dortmund posted a tweet, in German, with the following post-match quote from Batshuayi: "I am very, very happy to be at Borussia Dortmund! In the two days I tried to focus on the game today. It was good, but I want to keep improving!"
After seeing the quote, Batshuayi tweeted: "Wow mein deutsch ist very good already ð"
One Dortmund fan replied: “OUTDONE AUBAMEYANGS LEGACY ALREADY.”
Batshuayi's funny response when asked why he signed
Batshuayi was also asked why he signed for Dortmund after the match, to which he replied: “I love Borussia Dortmund. Black and yellow are my favorite colors because I love Batman and SpongeBob.”
Oh, Michy.
Batshuayi also posted a (slightly) more serious tweet
But on a slightly more serious note, he also tweeted: “90mns, two goals, an assist & a great victory ð¤ð dream debut with @BVB #BatsmanBack.”
Batsman is, indeed, back - and he’s clearly enjoying his football again, which is great to see.
