Thirteen games still remain of this Premier League season, yet it would appear Jose Mourinho has already admitted defeat where the title race is concerned.Manchester United lost 2-0 to Tottenham on Wednesday which meant the gap between them and Manchester City extended to 15 points.Closing the gap isn't completely impossible, of course, but Mourinho now realises there's not much chance of City slipping up."They (City) are doing so, so well in that they are not letting the others come close to them, it's as simple as that," said Mourinho ahead of the weekend's action."With the number of points and improvement in relation to last season, the distance would be a distance that leaves the fight open.

"The fight is open for second, third, fourth, fifth and sixth, but is practically closed for the first.

"I cannot say, we, Tottenham or Chelsea is doing badly, because the points we have are very reasonable, but City started strong and kept doing strong and managed to win matches."

Finishing second is now United's top target in terms of their Premier League ambitions, but to achieve that they must bounce back from the Spurs defeat.

Mourinho's side face Huddersfield on Saturday in what represents a must-win game, but according to Manchester Evening News, big change is afoot.

M.E.N's Samuel Luckhurst claims there's a good chance Paul Pogba will be dropped for the Huddersfield game - and it hasn't gone down well with United fans.

MOURINHO TO DROP POGBA

Pogba is United's main man in midfield yet Mourinho is set to bench the Frenchman, most likely because of his performance against Tottenham in midweek.

Here's how United fans have been reacting to the news on Twitter.

MAN UTD FANS ARE RAGING

This is going to be very interesting. Should Mourinho follow through with dropping Pogba, it's like the Portuguese will start Nemanja Matic alongside Ander Herrera.

It's a risky move that could backfire on United's manager, because in Pogba, the Red Devils will be losing their most creative player.

Elsewhere, Luke Shaw and Juan Mata are in line to start against Huddersfield, which will likely see Jesse Lingard and Ashley Young make way.
