It is fair to say Alexis Sanchez's departure from Arsenal to Manchester United earlier this transfer window did not go down well with fans of the London club. The Chilean had been Arsenal's talisman in recent years, and last season he enjoyed arguably the best season of his career to date.Although Arsenal would ultimately miss out on the top four, Sanchez was their best and and most considerable performer by a considerable distance: eventually finishing the campaign having hit the back of the net 30 times. But, despite his heroics in an Arsenal shirt, it seemed that Sanchez was intent on letting his contract run down. And Arsenal fans' worst fears were realized when Sanchez decided to join Manchester United in January, meaning another of their best players had decided to make the move to their bitter rivals: after Robin van Persie in 2012.This transfer, of course, seriously infuriated Arsenal fans.

ARSENAL FANS CAN NOW FEEL SLIGHTLY BETTER

A lot has been made of Sanchez's move from London to Manchester, and he has lived up to the hype so far having impressed in his first few games for his new club.

And he continued his decent start to life at Old Trafford on Saturday, capping a good performance with his first goal for Jose Mourinho's side.

However, despite being voted man-of-the-match by a considerable distance by United fans, a stat has emerged that may bring a smile to the faces of Arsenal fans.

According to Opta, Sanchez lost the ball an incredible 32 times, which is more than any other Manchester United player has done in the Premier League this season. Wow.

Being a creative player, Sanchez is always expected to lose possession of the ball a number of times every game: but to lose the ball that many times in 90 minutes is fairly alarming.

Arsenal fans may be missing watching the Chilean ply his trade at the Emirates Stadium, but that stat may just ease their heartache just that little bit.
