Former WWE Champion CM Punk is now a fighter in the world of mixed martial arts (MMA), and after having an unsuccessful UFC debut, it looks like he's ready to give it another shot.In January of 2014 Punk walked out on WWE citing several issues he had with the company. Punk did not appreciate being ignored by WWE's doctors for a mass he had growing on his back. He later found out it could've been life threatening. He also did not take too kindly to part-timers coming in and getting the main event of WrestleMania as opposed to the men and women who are there on a weekly basis. After leaving the WWE he announced just a few months later that he would be transitioning careers into the MMA world. He signed a multi-fight deal with the UFC and began training with Roufussport. That gym has trained champions such as former UFC lightweight champion Anthony Pettis and current welterweight champion Tyron Woodley.Punk made his debut in September of 2016 when he took on Mickey Gall on pay-per-view (PPV) at UFC 203. "The Cult Of Personality" was immediately taken down and Brazilian jiu-jitsu brown belt Gall locked in a rear-naked choke. After fighting back on the ground for a few seconds the former WWE Champ was forced to tap. Despite the defeat he still expressed interest in wanting to fight again, and vowed not to quit. There was speculation from Dana White as to whether or not he'd let Punk fight again, but the UFC boss recently said that he's going to give the former WWE Superstar one last chance. That chance could come as soon as this summer. The UFC is scheduled to hold an event in Punk's hometown of Chicago, Illinois on June 9th, and Punk took to Twitter to tease his return could take place on the card:

What are your thoughts on Punk hinting at fighting at the UFC's upcoming card in Chicago? Do you think that the UFC will actually put Punk on this card? And how far up on the card could Punk be? Is there a shot he serves as the main event given his draw power and that he's in his hometown? Have YOUR say in the comments section below, and the fourth episode of GiveMeSport’s WWE podcast is here!
