Liverpool are reportedly preparing a summer bid for Dutch youngster Georginio Wijnaldum.

The 19-year-old Feyenoord winger has made his name in the Eredivisie after making his debut in 2007, and now Rafa Benitez's Liverpool lead a handful of clubs looking to make a transfer move for the player.

Wijnaldum became the youngest player to represent De stadionclub when making his debut at the age of 16. Since then, he has started to feature more prominently at De Kuip, becoming a household name in the Dutch league. He has appeared 29 times for the Rotterdam club so far this season

International recognition came the playmakers way in 2006, and Wijnaldum has represented Holland at U17, U19 and U21 level thus far in his career.

The player denied reports that he was interested in a 'dream' move to Liverpool last week, with his quotes coming after news that the Anfield club were interested in his talents.

Wijnaldum's denial doesn't appear to have put the Merseyside club off however, with the Mail on Sunday reporting that Benitez is still ready to move when the transfer window re-opens at the start of June.

Recognised as one of the brightest talents in Dutch football, an £8 million price tag would appear to be relatively cheap considering the current market.
