Swindon have forged an exciting link with Manchester City which could bring more Premier League loan players to the County Ground next season.

The Robins have developed solid relationships with a handful of high-profile clubs this term such as Celtic, Liverpool and Bolton, which has seen the likes of Simon Ferry, Stephen Darby and Danny Ward arrive in Wiltshire to gain first-team experience.

Chairman Andrew Fitton is keen to develop those links with existing clubs and also create new ones, with Manchester City the latest join Swindon around the table.

Fitton told the club's official website: "Danny (Wilson) knows Brian Marwood and there were a few contacts we had there (at Eastlands). Mike Summerbee came along and saw me when I was up there and with the links we have, we just need to make sure we are bringing them together in a positive fashion."

He added: "We have developed some very interesting ideas. All the time things are developing and what I want is for clubs like Manchester City and Liverpool to know they can send a player to Swindon Town and they will do well here.

"I think there will be some interesting things to come out of our relationship with Manchester City next year."
