There are bad days at the office and then there's Tiemoue Bakayoko's performance at Watford.

Chelsea supporters have berated the Frenchman's showings all season long but his performance from hell at Vicarage Road brought fan opinion of him to a new low. You know it's bad when you leave the pitch to chants of 'you're f***ing s**t' from your own supporters.

Bakayoko endured a nightmarish 30 minutes in north London, conceding possession on a regular basis and generally being overran by his Watford counterparts.

However, the proclaimed Nemanja Matic replacement went one step beyond a simple, poor performance after he was dismissed for two yellow cards.

The second booking was certainly harsh on Bakayko but, regardless, being reduced to 10 men greatly contributed towards Chelsea's eventually collapse to a 4-1 loss.

Chelsea fan analyses Bakayoko's performances

Just what is going so badly wrong for the 23-year-old then? There's no doubt that he has talent, his performance with Monaco show that, yet it seems every performance of his is met with due criticism.

Well, YouTube analysis and Chelsea fan 'Nouman' has sought to address the question with an intriguing video on the midfielder to try and diagnose what's going on.

In his second video on the player, he concluded that Bakayoko issues lied with his poor positional awareness, weak footballing brain, heavy first touch and the poor timing of his tackles.

His positional awareness is perhaps his biggest flaw at the moment with Cesc Fabregas and N'Golo Kante showing far more on-pitch nous. Several clips show Bakayoko intruding upon spaces occupied by full-backs and wingers as well as generally forgetting to check his surroundings.

As for the first touch and the tackling, both contributed greatly to his red card on Monday and substantial footage shows such weaknesses weren't reserved for the Watford game.

Tactical analysis of Bakayoko

Take a look at the video below:

The 23-year-old has made 35 appearances this season and it's clear he is something of a favourite of Antonio Conte's.

After so many disappointing showings, though, Chelsea fans have grown tired and are just waiting for him to be switched out of the team. Reports over Conte's future could have a large bearing on that.

As the fan himself concluded: "Trusting your player is a good thing but sometimes they need benching so they can work harder to make it back into the team.

"Bakayoko makes these mistakes in almost every game but for some reason Conte still plays him in every match.

"Ethan Ampadu, 17, has looked more calm and composed whenever he has been on the pitch at CB or CDM."

Ouch.
