Watford's talented winger Richarlison was seen crying on the bench during Monday night's impressive 4-1 win over Antonio Conte's Chelsea.

The 20-year-old Brazilian signed for the Hornets over the summer from Fluminense and his eye-catching performances have already seen him being linked with a big-money move to the Premier League's biggest clubs.

"Chelsea are going to come with everything because they need to win the game," Richarlison said to the Evening Standard ahead of the shock 4-1 win. "But we are ready for them.

"We have no doubt that against Chelsea we can play a good game."

Chelsea midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko was sent off in the first half at Vicarage Road and Watford certainly made them pay.

Following heavy defeats to Bournemouth and Watford, Conte's future at Stamford Bridge is hanging by a thread.

Richarlison reveals why he was in tears on the bench

With his team winning 1-0, the Sky Sports cameras spotted an emotional Richarlison crying after being substituted in the 65th minute.

Footballers often try and give off a 'macho attitude' but the passionate young Brazilian clearly doesn't feel that this side of the game is particularly important.

"I was crying because I wanted to play and help my team-mates,” he told ESPN Brasil after the game.

"But in the end the guy that entered the pitch did the job well so it’s all okay."

Some fans may think he was being over-dramatic but it's refreshing to see a footballer who truly loves his profession.

Roberto Pereyra replaced his fellow South American and scored an absolute beauty to put Watford 4-1 up.

Watford manager Javi Gracia explained why he took off Richarlison, despite his impressive performance against the Premier League champions.

"Richarlison was very happy for the victory," Gracia said.

"There was a moment the referee spoke with him and he was booked - I took the difficult decision to change because he was playing very well."

The highly-rated winger is expected to be back in the starting XI when Watford visit West Ham on Saturday.
