The long awaited rematch between BF, IBO, WBA, and WBC middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin and Canelo Alvarez is set for May 5th.

In their first time around Canelo and Golovkin went the distance and the judges awarded a Majority Draw decision. Many fans were upset with the judges' call as they believe Golovkin dominated Canelo for the majority of the fight.

Despite this, both men will now have to put on a more convincing performance to make sure they take home the win - whether that means completely dominating the opposition or finishing the fight.

Canelo feels that he won the first fight, however, he also knows something was missing from his performance.

The Mexican star realizes he needs to put on a more convincing offense performance to decisively pick up the victory over Golovkin.

He said he has watched the fight 10 times and firmly stand by his belief that he won on points (quotes via Boxing Scene):

"I've watched it like 10 times, I think I had a good fight. I won the fight by two points. I think that, in order to be more convincing, I just have to throw more punches and nothing else.

"We are analyzing the idea of training in the mountains of Colorado, to be at a high elevation to gain more conditioning," Canelo said.

"We are looking for a convincing victory. That's why we're going this time and we're going to prepare for a more active fight. I will give the best of myself in training so that the fight is easier."

When it's all said and done on May 5th's rematch, Golden Boy Promotions' Oscar De La Hoya believes a rematch is nearly a guarantee:

"It may be, I think there is a high percentage that there may be a third fight. Let's see how the second one develops.

"In the first one, there was a lot of talk about the rematch, and it ended up being something that was done. Let's hope that it's a great fight and that the public will enjoy it," Canelo said.
