Not only did Cleveland Cavaliers superstar LeBron James hit the game-winning shot in a thrilling 140-138 overtime victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves, but he also had a tremendous overall game.In 48 minutes played, James shot a wildly-efficient 16-for-22 from the field for 37 points and added 15 rebounds and 10 assists for his ninth triple-double of the year.On the season, James is putting up MVP-type numbers once again, averaging 26.3 points, 8.0 rebounds and 8.6 assists in 36.8 minutes per contest.Over the years, his consistency across the stat sheet has been remarkable. Averaging 27.1 points, 7.3 rebounds and 7.1 assists per game for his career, James has continued to climb up the all-time record books in all three categories.Recently, he became the seventh player in league history to pass the 30,000 point mark. On Thursday, the 33-year-old future Hall of Famer made history once again, but in a different category. When he pulled down his eighth rebound, James became Cleveland’s all-time leader. Now, he’s the third player in NBA history to lead a franchise in points, rebounds and assists, joining Michael Jordan of the Chicago Bulls and Kevin Garnett of the Minnesota Timberwolves.

James passed Zydrunas Ilgauskas’ mark of 5,904 rebounds to earn the franchise’s top spot. Considering the fact that he doesn’t seem to be slowing down with age at all, James’ all-time marks in these categories could be astounding when he decides to retire.

Interestingly, James had just one rebound in the second half of Tuesday night’s embarrassing loss to the Orlando Magic. As a result, his effort was called out, along with the rest of his team.

On Wednesday, he put any talk of a lack of effort to rest with his dominant, 15-board night on the second game of a back-to-back while drawing the defense of Jimmy Butler, one of the best on-ball defenders in the entire NBA.

The performance came within a very dramatic time in LeBron’s career. When asked if he’d waive his no-trade clause if the Cavs wanted to trade him before the February 8 deadline, James made it clear that he wants to make things right in Cleveland this season.

"I'm here for the long haul," James said, according to ESPN. "I'm here for this season right now, [to] try to figure out ways we can still compete. I couldn't give up on my teammates like that. I couldn't do that. I just couldn't do it.”

LeBron is expected to opt out of his contract and become a free agent this summer. There is no guarantee that he will re-sign with the Cavs, but he made it clear that winning a title this season is still the focus.

“We put too much into the game every single day. We go out and prepare. Win, lose or draw, at the end of the day, we're all brothers, and we understand that,” he added. “I owe it to my teammates to finish this season out no matter how it ends up. I would never waive my no-trade clause.”

If Wednesday night’s victory is any indication, the Cavaliers can hang with any team in the NBA. It remains to be seen if they can ride the momentum of the thrilling victory moving forward.
