It’s just over a week until Chris Eubank Jr. and George Groves put their respective IBO and WBA world titles on the line in the semi-final of the World Boxing Super Series tournament. And the trash-talking has already started.Reacting to Eubank Jr.’s knockout win over Avni Yildrim in the quarter-final, Groves said that his younger opponent stands “no chance”.“There is absolutely nothing for me to worry about, because there’s gaping, gaping holes in that style, and that approach that I will take advantage of,” Groves said.“He’s got no chance. He won’t be able to compete, and I’m not going to fall for your gimmicks.”Eubank Jr. fired back by promising a knockout on February 17.“He won’t go 12 rounds,” the 28-year-old said.“Somebody is getting knocked out, and this chin doesn’t have an off button. His does.”

Eubank Sr. sent Groves a shocking tweet

Unsurprisingly, Chis Eubank Sr. has decided to get in on the action with a rather crass tweet.

Eubank Sr. attached a link to a video showing Tyson Fury’s reaction to Eubank Jr.’s win over Nick Blackwell in 2016, in which Blackwell was placed in an induced coma after suffering severe head injuries.

.@StGeorgeGroves Take a look at this video&you’ll understand why I am protective of you,” Eubank Sr. wrote.

“I’ve never seen @Tyson_Fury so emotional&who needed a hug after he witnessed what real fighting looks like. We warned him&I’m now looking out4Uas my care is real.

“Not disgust, just noble💝🙏🏾”.

Tyson Fury has responded

Fury has responded and he’s not at all happy with Eubank Sr.

@ChrisEubank u are a disgrace trying to use the Blackwells situation as a threat to @StGeorgeGroves & even tag my name in something so sick 😷, u silly old man, get a life. @bjsaunders_ will annihilate your son again whenever his ready for another LOSSSSS.🖕🏻,” Fury wrote.

Eubank Jr. is a talented boxer but his father is doing him no favours when it comes to popularity.

Trash-talking is a part of boxing but to include Blackwell in his tweet is very insensitive.

Blackwell nearly lost his life in his fight against Eubank Jr. and was hospitalised again after taking part in a sparring session.

The incident prompted Eubank Jr. to tweet: “Nick Blackwell is back in hospital, after he tried to start sparring again. Hes a tough tough kid, I know he'll get himself through it again”.
