Over the past couple of weeks, DeAndre Jordan has been heavily linked with a trade to the Cleveland Cavaliers to get the team back on track this season, but another Eastern Conference team could be about to ruin their hopes, as they're adding their name into the mix.

If this team manages to capture the center from the Los Angeles Clippers, it could end the Cavaliers' hopes of finishing as one of the top two seeds in the Eastern Conference, as the other team in question is the Toronto Raptors.

According to Marc Stein of The New York Times, Toronto is trying to work its way into the mix for Jordan, but in a similar situation as Cleveland, they will likely need a third team in order to complete the trade.

Jordan has drawn interest from the Cavaliers, Milwaukee Bucks, Portland Trail Blazers, and the Washington Wizards, as well as the Raptors, and you would think if the center lands in Toronto by the trade deadline later today, it will mean Jonas Valanciunas is going elsewhere.

Since the Raptors center is due to make $16.5 million next season and has a player option for $17.6 million in 2019-20, this is definitely not a contract that the Clippers would be interested in, meaning in order to facilitate a trade for Jordan, the Raptors will have to get a third team involved.

In this situation, since the Clippers would be in full rebuild mode if Jordan leaves, they will likely want either draft picks or some prospects they're high on from the Raptors.

A 2020 first round pick to a third team to take Valenciunas, plus a few of their prospects to the Clippers is a lot to pay for Jordan who could still be a free agent in the summer.

Still, the Clippers center would still offer the Raptors a good defensive mind and boost the team's defensive into a stronger contender.

Jordan could help Toronto win the Eastern Conference this season if results go their way, especially if you take into account how much the Cavaliers have been struggling.
