Arsenal fans are pretty happy right now.

Arsene Wenger helped them to forget about the first half of the season by signing Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Henrikh Mkhitaryan in the January transfer window, with Mesut Ozil also signing a contract extension at the Emirates.

A 5-1 victory over Everton last week only served to heighten the excitement around north London right now.

The Gunners will be tested when they travel to Wembley Stadium to take on rivals Tottenham Hotspur tomorrow, though.

Spurs haven’t lost a Premier League match since December and will be motivated to further push the idea that a north London power shift has taken place.

What Crouch has said about Arsenal is so true

One man who is looking forward to the contest is former Tottenham striker Peter Crouch.

The Stoke City player has raised concerns about the Gunners in his column for the Daily Mail.

As exciting as Aubameyang and Mkhitaryan are, Crouch believes Arsenal should have focused on adding some steel to their midfield.

Crouch recently claimed the Gunners should explore the possibility of signing Steven Nzonzi from Sevilla, and he believes they’ve never truly replaced Patrick Vieira.

“The performance of last weekend came at the Emirates Stadium. When it all comes together for Arsenal from now on, they are going to be unstoppable,” Crouch said.

“Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Henrikh Mkhitaryan formed an instant connection against Everton and the outcome was spectacular but I wouldn't be too quick to say the same thing will happen in the north London derby.

“If Arsenal leave spaces, Tottenham have the players to do damage.

“I do think Arsenal have the look of a team that is about to go on a run and, regardless of what happens at Wembley, they are going to be involved in the fight to reach the top four but they must be such a frustrating team to support.

“A few weeks ago, I wrote that Sevilla's Steven Nzonzi would be a great January signing for Arsenal. The one thing they need is the middle of their team stiffening.

“So what does Arsene Wenger do? He goes out and buys two more forwards…

“I have so much respect for Wenger but the one thing he has never done is properly replace Patrick Vieira.

“It feels like Arsenal's team has been crying out for that kind of player for such a long time but Wenger's thinking is clear: he will always go for a Mkhitaryan over an Nzonzi.”

Even Arsenal fans will have a hard time disagreeing with Crouch.
