Henrikh Mkhitaryan put on a show in his second outing for Arsenal.

The Armenian playmaker recorded three assists in the Gunners’ 5-1 win over Everton last weekend, handing a reminder to Jose Mourinho about what he’s capable of.

Mkhitaryan was used by Manchester United to prise Alexis Sanchez from Arsenal in a move that seems to suit all parties.

Sanchez was set to leave the Emirates Stadium on a free in the summer, so to exchange him for Mkhitaryan represents good business for Arsene Wenger.

The Arsenal boss will hope Mkhitaryan can repeat his excellent performance from last week when the Gunners take on rivals Tottenham Hotspur today.

Arsenal appears to be the perfect fit for Mkhitaryan, who fell out of favour with Mourinho at Old Trafford.

The Gunners’ stylish play-style certainly suits the way Mkhitaryan likes to play.

And under Wenger, he’s now playing for a manager who isn’t going to criticise him in public.

Mkhitaryan: The difference between Wenger and Mourinho

The former Borussia Dortmund player has opened up about the differences between Wenger and Mourinho, insisting the Frenchman is much calmer than the Man United boss.

"Mourinho required a lot from the players," Mkhitaryan told SFR Sport. “A lot, he was very hard.”

"Arsene Wenger is friendlier, he understands, can think about players' situations, is calmer. That's the difference."

'I left an impression in Manchester'

Despite seeing Man United career cut short last month, the 29-year-old still believes he made an impact in his time at the club.

"I think I left an impression in Manchester, although I had difficulties," he added.

"We won three trophies in a year and a half, it's not every club that does that.

"We won the Europa League final, I scored a goal. If people say that I have not had enough success it is their opinion, but I can say that I had a lot of success at the club."

Mkhitaryan appeared to have overcome his difficult start to life at Man United when he made a fast start to the 2017-18 campaign.

But he lost his place in the starting line-up and Mourinho ultimately realised he could be used to bring in Sanchez.

It’ll be interesting to see which club gets the better end of the deal.
