It seems like Seth Rollins simply can’t catch a break in WWE when it’s WrestleMania season.

He had to miss his first WrestleMania appearance because of a knee injury. Instead, he watched Roman Reigns defeat Triple H for the WWE Championship and was extremely close to missing WrestleMania 33.

In the build-up to the event, he was attacked by Samoa Joe and aggravated his knee injury again. However, after intense rehab he made it back in time to compete and now, he’s had to watch two partners get injured.

First Dean Ambrose suffered an injury which ended the WWE’s plans for a full-blown Shield reunion and now, Jason Jordan has had surgery for a neck issue which could keep him out of action for 12-14 months.

Because of that, Jordan will not be able to compete and no the surface, it looks like that’s the reason Rollins has been taken out of the Elimination Chamber pay-per-view. Although there were reports of a back injury, The Kingslayer publicly denied this and now Cageside Seats has revealed why WWE could have actually taken the former WWE Champion out of the event completely.

They’re claiming that the match featuring Rollins has been scrapped because there was actually supposed to be a big angle featuring him and Jordan. With Jordan unable to compete, it makes no sense to have him on the card or unnecessarily force him into a match.

ANGLE

Apparently, this could have led to a heel turn for Jordan and would have set up a WrestleMania 34 match between the pair in New Orleans, Louisiana. With Jordan out of action, obviously, it looks as if that match won’t be happening and Rollins’ WrestleMania plans now seem up in the air once again - as is becoming the trend for him.

While the Jordan match sounds underwhelming, it’s not the first choice WWE had in mind. The original plan was for The Lunatic Fringe to be the one that turns heel this time to gain revenge for what happened during the original Shield implosion - effectively setting up a match between the pair.

It’s now thought that this match will happen when Ambrose is back in action, with many now wondering what the next few important months on the Road to WrestleMania could have in store for Rollins.

It’s been speculated for a while that Jordan could turn heel, especially during his early failed run as Kurt Angle’s son, with many speculating it could lead to a match between the pair.
