When Vince McMahon finally confirmed the worst-kept secret in WWE that he was reviving the XFL, not many knew how to take the news.

Some fans pointed to the first failure while others thought most of his focus would go away from WWE and focus on seriously creating something that could potentially rival the NFL. If that’s the case and you take into consideration just how much control Vince likes to have over the whole WWE product, fans were understandably worried that the quality of programming could face a negative impact.

CONTROL

However, those fears seem to have been eased now as multiple sources have revealed that Triple H is expected to gain even more power within WWE with Vince shifting most of his focus to the XFL.

Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter not only revealed that this is the original feeling backstage, but he also noted that Triple H is in the process of putting together a team to handle NXT - a project of his which has seen tremendous success - with former Impact talent Jeremy Borash possibly being a part of it.

If he’s able to have an impact like he has with NXT, fans would welcome Triple H in with welcome arms to have more creative freedom.

One of the clearer signs of Vince giving Triple H the reigns is that The Game has now been put in charge of 205 Live.

EXCITEMENT

Sources have claimed that Vince stepped away from the booking and production aspect of the Cruiserweight division where his focus was more on the character-building, whereas Triple H believes it’s the in-ring aspect which gains more interest instead. The changes kicked off last week, where 205 Live announced a tournament to crown a new champion which culminates at WrestleMania 34.

The sources have also noted that The Game is working closely alongside William Regal to bring back some of the Cruiserweight Classic elements and implement them in 205 Live to make it into an exciting show. As highlighted, the focus is to put on exciting matches consistently and move away from Vince’s stubbornness on giving the Cruiserweight stars more personalities instead.

When you think of what Triple H has with NXT and turned it into something unmissable each week, it could be exciting times for WWE and its fans in the near future.
