Real Madrid loanee Martin Odegaard wowed fans on Saturday night with a glorious piece of skill during Heerenveen's 1-1 draw with Roda JC in the Dutch Eredivisie. The young Norwegian wonderkid was famously wanted by every top club in Europe after some excellent performances for Strømsgodset.Signed by Los Blancos at the age of 15 in January 2015, Odegaard's first three years in the Spanish capital have definitely not gone to plan.He made his debut for the La Liga giants soon after his 16th birthday - but he's since barely been given a run out by Zinedine Zidane. In January 2017, Odegaard joined Dutch club Heerenveen on an 18-month loan. He's been a regular starter in the Eredivisie and the 19-year-old Norwegian international produced a moment of pure class during Saturday's 1-1 draw with Roda JC.

Odegaard's glorious piece of skill

Whilst Real Madrid were thrashing Real Sociedad, the young loanee destroyed Belgian defender Jannes Vansteenkiste with an incredible elastico nutmeg.

There was only a tiny gap between his opponent's legs but Odegaard somehow found it.

He went on to draw a save from the goalkeeper.

It's moments like these that remind us why there was so much hype around him.

Odegaard is due to return to Real Madrid in the summer but it seems unlikely that he'll be involved in much first team action next season at the Bernabeu.

"I think I’ve played some good games and some not so good,” he told Heerenveen TV earlier this season.

“You have to learn from your mistakes and you have to develop. That's what I'm trying to do now, to work hard in training and do my best in games and hopefully I can do even better in the future.”
