Has Floyd Mayweather just dropped his biggest hint yet that he is about to make a dramatic move into MMA? The 40-year-old retired boxing legend has been teasing fight fans in recent weeks with non too subtle suggestions that he is considering a foray into the Octagon, but his recent social media post may have graphically illustrated his intentions. The post leaves little to the imagination as it shows an image headlined "Certified Killa vs Certified B***h", which depicts Mayweather inflicting horrific damage on his arch rival Conor McGregor in a fight that is clearly being conducted under MMA rules.McGregor, known as the 'Notorious', is the undisputed megastar of the UFC, a two-weight world champion with devastating knockout power and a mouth to match. The Irishman has had a long-running feud with Mayweather and both men fought under boxing rules last August in a fight that captured the imagination of the sporting world.'Money' came out of retirement for that contest in Las Vegas and he stopped an outmatched, inexperienced McGregor in the 10th round. In reality, both fighters were winners that night as with well over four million PPV buys, it was one of the most profitable fights in history. The Irishman has regularly challenged Mayweather to a rematch in the cage, but there seemed little prospect of a man in his forties and zero experience of fighting under MMA rules of going anywhere near an Octagon, not least to face one of its most dangerous exponents. This scenario, however, is beginning to inch closer to reality as Mayweather has been busy posting videos of himself climbing inside an Octagon cage, posting pictures wearing MMA style gloves, and now this latest image which is sure to provoke an interesting response from 'Notorious'.

Last week, UFC president Dana White made it clear that he will not countenance the idea of any Mayweather-McGregor rematch unless they collide under MMA rules.

“Obviously, the only way making that fight again makes any sense is if he comes over to the Octagon,” White said on UFC Tonight. “We went over and boxed him, the UFC and Conor McGregor. And now it’s time for him to reciprocate and come fight in the Octagon.

“Floyd said leading up to the fight with Conor that he would do both. So we’ll see what happens.”
