There have been a lot of rumors going around lately regarding the professional football future of New England Patriots Tight End Rob Gronkowski's NFL future.Prior to Super Bowl 52 between the Patriots and the Philadelphia Eagles reports surfaced expressing doubt that Gronkowski could return to the gridiron next year. Just a day before the big game, Gronkowski wouldn't commit to returning to play next season.Gronkowski, when healthy, is arguably the most dominant Tight End to have ever played in the NFL. Unfortunately his career has been plagued by injuries throughout the years and has limited the time he's been able to spend on the field.

It seems that the Patriot could be contemplating retirement after having won two Super Bowl rings, five Pro Bowl appearances, and five First Team All Pro nominations. If he does decide to retire from football, it seems Gronkowski could have the option of joining WWE.

Gronk has done work with WWE before, as he invaded to Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal last year. He had an interaction with Jinder Mahal at ringside, which eventually led to him getting in the ring and tackling "The Modern Day Maharaja."

He assisted his longtime friend and former teammate-turned-WWE Superstar Mojo Rawley in winning the match. When Rawley was recently asked about Gronkowski possibly coming to WWE, he had a rather interesting answer.

Rawley claimed that it's not a matter of 'if' Gronk will join WWE, it's a matter of 'when.' Here's what he had to say:

"It's not a matter of if, it's a matter of WHEN," Mojo told TMZ Sports, before adding, "I can't speak for him."

If Gronkowski could land a role in WWE it would be huge for the company. Gronk has the size, look, and personality for the gig. It would also be the second major name they land on their roster next to Ronda Rousey.

What are your thoughts on Rawley saying that it's a matter of 'when' Rob Gronkowski comes to WWE? Do you think that Gronkowski will eventually make the transition into professional wrestling? And do you think that the New England Patriots Tight End would be a good fit for the wrestling industry? Have YOUR say in the comments section below, and the fourth episode of GiveMeSport’s WWE podcast is here!
