The last thing Mauricio Pochettino would have said to his Tottenham players before their tie against Juventus was probably: ‘Keep it tight early on.”But they didn’t quite do that because they were 2-0 down after just nine minutes inside the Juventus Stadium. Two minutes in and Dele Alli’s lack of concentration saw Higuain create yards of space for himself from a free-kick before the Argentinian swiveled and volleyed in brilliantly.Seven minutes later, Higuain had grabbed his second.Ben Davies clumsily brought down Federico Bernardeschi and Higuain scored from the resulting penalty, although Hugo Lloris did manage to get a big hand on the ball. After just nine minutes of the 180-minute tie, Spurs looked as though they were out.But the away side responded well. The north London appeared to play with greater freedom after going 2-0 down and started created chances of their own.And the best opportunity came in the 26th-minute.Cristian Eriksen produced a moment of magic to pick out Harry Kane with a lovely cross.Kane, who scored with a fantastic header in the north London derby on Saturday, was just a couple of yards out but couldn’t beat Gianluigi Buffon with his effort. The Italian legend stayed strong and palmed out Kane’s header brilliantly.

WATCH: BUFFON'S SAVE VS HARRY KANE

It was a really poor miss but Buffon deserves a lot of credit.

GARY LINEKER'S REACTION

There was plenty of reaction but perhaps the best reaction came from Gary Lineker.

He pointed out the age difference between the two players by tweeting: “Kane was 2 years old when Buffon made his debut. Now he saves Harry’s header from 2 yards out.”

Brilliant.

But Kane soon got his revenge on Buffon.

In the 34-minute, the striker rounded the onrushing ‘keeper and finished calmly to get his side an all-important away goal.

You just can’t keep Kane down. Not even the legendary Buffon.
