Aldershot chairman John Leppard believes the Player Transfer Fund has been crucial to the club.

A group of Shots supporters have been donating small amounts of money into a Player Pledge Fund and last week they were able to make a larger donation into the Player Transfer Fund, which will help the club to pay for new signings.

Leppard told the club`s official website: "Both myself and Kevin (Dillon) stated in the press last week about how supportive we are of the player fund."

He added: "I would like to thank the contributors from the Stray Shots Player Pledge - it just goes to show that every single contribution counts, however large or small.

The fund helped the club to sign Dean Morgan on loan from MK Dons on transfer deadline day and Leppard hopes it will continue to play a key role at the League Two outfit.

Leppard added: "There is no doubt that the fund strengthened our squad at vital times this season, please keep your support going."
