Few players have experienced a dip in their career quite like Joe Hart.

The English goalkeeper was once viewed as one of the finest in his position with Manchester City, helping the club lift two Premier League titles.

However, in Manuel Pellegrini's final season, there were signs his grip on the number one spot was weakening, with Willy Caballero being handed a lot more opportunities.

Once Pep Guardiola arrived in Manchester, it really was game over for England's soon-to-be ex-number one.

He was shipped off on loan to Torino, with Claudio Bravo coming in to replace him. The Chilean was a disaster, but now City have one of the finest goalkeepers in the world in summer signing Ederson.

The Brazilian's arrival saw Guardiola send Hart out on loan once again to West Ham, a place where his career was supposed to reignite.

It has done the opposite, with Hart now second choice behind Adrian at the London Stadium.

Dark days and now, the keeper - who's World Cup spot is under extreme threat - has finally realised what he must do to try and save his career.

HART FINALLY ACCEPTS REALITY

As reported by The Sun, an inside source at City suggests that Hart has realised his best opportunity is to move abroad once again.

The Etihad source said: “Joe will do what is right for him and his young family.

“He long accepted his Man City career is over and values playing above everything else.

“There is still some chatter Liverpool, Arsenal or Chelsea could be interested but he’s been around long enough not to be waiting by the phone.

“He loved his experience of playing on the Continent and wouldn’t rule anything out at this stage.”

Yeah, don't think Liverpool, Arsenal or Chelsea will be keen on acquiring Hart's services in the summer.

Even the lower end of the Premier League table would turn their nose up at him now, with a move abroad surely the only way out.

Let's just hope it goes a bit better than that spell at Torino for Joe...
