Liverpool target 'dream' Swedish signing

Liverpool are reportedly on the verge of signing 15-year-old Swedish starlet Kristoffer Petersen.

The teenager impressed coaching staff at the Melwood academy in a recent trial, and Liverpool are expected to offer the gifted youngster a move to England.

Although the history of the Savedalens IF forward is unclear, Petersen is thought to have made his senior debut as a 14-year-old for the minnows in Sweden.

With the Reds putting a strong emphasis on building their youth system, Petersen was offered a trial at the club and now the Daily Mail reports that he's expected to be offered a contract on Merseyside.

"I am no longer just toying with the dream. It feels like the club really want to give me a chance," Peterson told Expressen in his homeland.

His agent, Robert Bengtsson Barkroth, would also go on to confirm that he's expecting a move from the Reds. "We understand that Liverpool are willing to offer an education package, that will include school and studies."

Rafael Benitez's side are also heavily linked with Charlton youngster Jonjo Shelvey, who is reportedly taking a medical at Anfield later today. These two signings, coupled with the addition of Raheem Sterling in February, proves that the Spaniard is really building for the future ay Anfield.
