The World Boxing Super Series super middleweight semi-final fight between George Groves and Chris Eubank Jr is hotting up very nicely.

It's the fight everyone is ready for. After selling out in a mere seven minutes, and the three months of build-up that has followed, it's almost here.

Groves and Eubank had the big weigh-in today and in typical fashion, it ended with a staredown.

Perhaps after all of the recent verbal jabs being thrown in the media over the last few weeks, it was clear for all to see that this particular face-off had an extra edge of intensity.

You can watch the full weigh-in in the video below but skip to 5:40 to see the pair go face-to-face for the final time.

Nose to nose, neither were willing to be the one who backed away first and as they were eventually separated Eubank Jr appeared to mutter something to Groves that seemed to get him fired up.

Later in the video (roughly 9:00), Eubank Jr, who is still considered the narrow favourite by the bookies, revealed what he told his bitter rival.

"I told him he's not ready. George ain't ready," the 28-year-old said.

"I can see it in his eyes. He doesn't want to be here.

"He came in here with his shades on.

"He doesn’t want to be here, he wants to get out into retirement, so that’s I’m going to do on Saturday night."

Groves has reigned as champion for nearly nine months and is regarded as one of the best around right now, but the unparalleled confidence of Eubank Jr could spell trouble for him.

He may also take great belief from knowing he is the heavier man, coming in at 11st 13lbs 10oz in contrast to Groves, who weighed 11st 13lbs 2oz.

A storm is definitely brewing in Manchester as the fight approaches. Two gladiators, both known knockout specialists, but only one can rise to the occasion.

Will the experience and determination of Groves reign supreme once again? Or will the tenacity and confidence of Eubank propel him into the final?
