Derby duo set for surgery

Published Add your comment

Derby duo Shaun Barker and David Martin will have operations following the Rams' final Championship match of the season against Cardiff.

Both players will be available for the game at Pride Park on Sunday and will go under the knife next week.

Centre-half Barker will undergo a minor procedure to 'wash out' his knee in a step to ensure he is ready for the start of pre-season training at the end of June. On loan Millwall winger Martin will have a similar operation on his ankle.

They follow Steven Davies, Stephen Pearson and Rob Hulse in undergoing operations in the last fortnight.
