Since his departure from the Oklahoma City Thunder to join the Golden State Warriors in 2016, there has been no love lost between Kevin Durant and former teammate Russell Westbrook. It's no secret that the pair fell out due to the circumstances surrounding KD's move to the Bay Area and they've had some public run-ins on the court on several occasions over the past year. But having been chosen on the same All-Star team, courtesy of captain LeBron James, it represents a chance for the duo to be cordial with one another and look to move on.They practiced together on Saturday ahead of the showpiece game on Sunday and appeared to be on speaking terms as pictures emerged yesterday. This is completely different to the status of their relationship at last year's game where they went out of their way to avoid talking to each other despite being on the same team. They even practiced on opposite ends of the floor and made things awkward for their All-Star teammates. But it seems that won't be the case this time around and they've already looked to make things easier by engaging in conversation.

It even led to Durant addressing the situation with the media during his All-Star press conference.

He was asked how the two were able to smooth things out and admitted that he had to look at himself for the role he played.

“I just got out of my own head and got out of my own way and stopped thinking it was even a thing,” Durant said, per Yahoo Sports.

“I feel like I just made it a thing when it shouldn’t have been. It’s cool to kind of get past that and just appreciate these guys for who they are and what they do. And it’s all love at the end of the day.”

Westbrook was also asked about the status of their relationship and he revealed that they are speaking and looking to move past all the drama.

“It’s been fine. It’s been normal,” Westbrook said. “Communicating, and that’s about it, you know? All the other stuff is kind of irrelevant. Just keeping it cool, talking when we need to, and just moving forward.”

Interestingly, the former teammates will square off immediately after the All-Star break as the Warriors entertain OKC for a third matchup this season.

All eyes will once again be on them but things may not be as heated as it has in past games on the evidence of this weekend.
