Following the Super Bowl, it was made known to the world that Rob Gronkowski of the New England Patriots was thinking out retiring from the NFL, ending his career in the league after just eight seasons.

Immediately after this piece of news broke, rumors began to swirl about what the tight end could decide to do next, and a possible move into the movie business or switch to wrestling in the WWE were spoken about potential future careers for Gronk.

Gronk's friend and WWE superstar Mojo Rawley even spoke about the possibility of the Patriots star joining him in the WWE when he was recently interviewed by TMZ Sports, saying: "It's not a matter of if, it's a matter of when."

Well, if reports are to be believed, that might not be far away from the truth at all, as the Wrestling Observer Newsletter has recently said, via Wrestling Inc, that the WWE is possibly interested in signing Gronkowski to a deal similar to that of Ronda Rousey.

One of the main reasons why the tight end is considering stepping away from the NFL and possibly switching to the WWE is because of the number of injuries he's had over the years which has required back, ankle, forearm, and ACL/MCL surgeries.

Due to the toll which the NFL has taken on his body, and the fact that he's financially set from his playing career and endorsement deals, a move to the WWE could be appealing, especially if a part-time contract is on the table, as this would mean his body wouldn't take a beating of a full-time deal.

WWE wouldn't be able to pay him the same money which he is on now currently with the Patriots, but that shouldn't matter thanks to the money he has managed save through his playing career, which is why a part-time deal might be the most appealing for both parties involved.

Gronkowski has already made several appearances for the WWE, most notably last year at WrestleMania 33 when he interfered in the Andre the Giant Battle Royal to help Rawley win the match by taking down Jinder Mahal in the ring.

If reports are to be believed, we could be seeing him inside the squared circle again in the not so distant future.
