Last night's (Mon. February 19, 2018) episode of Monday Night RAW was filled with several history-making moments, so many in fact that it may have overshadowed some potential plans that WWE was hinting at right in front of our faces.

The opening match of the night, which lasted nearly two hours, was a Gauntlet match between the seven men set to compete in the Men's Elimination Chamber match this Sunday on pay-per-view (PPV).

Those seven men are Seth Rollins, Roman Reigns, John Cena, Elias, The Miz, Finn Balor, and Braun Strowman. Former Shield brothers Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins started the night off as the fist two men in the match.

Rollins and Reigns put on a great match that went back-and-forth, but in the end it was a roll-up pin from "The Architect" that earned him the win. It's an interesting thing when WWE allows its top star to lose cleanly.

After defeating Reigns, Rollins would also go on to pin John Cena cleanly as well. It's a rare feat for someone to defeat WWE's two top stars - John Cena and Roman Reigns - cleanly in the same night.

Dave Meltzer recently commented on this in the latest edition of Wrestling Observer Radio. He stated that Rollins defeating Reigns is for a reason, and that reason being a feud between the pair down the line:

"Roman's loss is not just a loss. A lot of the time I get mad when they have a top guy lose for no reason whatsoever.

"It's kind of like if you're a top guy and you lose, it should only be for a reason and this had a reason, I think.

"I think the reason is that Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins will be working a program down the line. If they're not, then it was for no reason."

What are your thoughts on WWE possibly setting up a feud between Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns down the road? If Reigns wins the Universal Title do you think this will be his first championship program after slaying "The Beast?" And who do you think will go over in the feud between the pair of former Shield mates? Have YOUR say in the comments section below, and the fourth episode of GiveMeSport’s WWE podcast is here!
