Tonight’s Champions League clash between Chelsea and Barcelona didn’t exactly live up to the pre-match hype.It wasn’t the thrill-a-minute goal-fest that we all hoped he might be; however, on the other hand, we were still treated some brilliant football from some of the world’s best footballers.Chelsea boss Antonio Conte got his tactics spot on over the course of the 90 minutes: preventing Barcelona’s star players - Lionel Messi, in particular - from picking the ball up in between the lines and inflicting damage.Barça have struggled on the narrow Stamford Bridge pitch in recent years and tonight was no exception. However, one costly mistake from Andreas Christensen, whose back-pass found Andres Iniesta, led to Lionel Messi cancelling out Willian’s opener later in the second half. That was Messi’s first ever goal against Chelsea and it could prove crucial ahead of the second leg.

Kante initially struggled - but got better

One Chelsea player who initially struggled was N’Golo Kante.

The France international, who has been sensational since joining the Blues from Leicester City in the summer of 2016, had only had two touches of the ball by the 25th minute.

However, he gradually grew into the match and became more influential as the match wore on.

Batshuayi's funny tweet about Kante

Midway through the second half, Michy Batshuayi, who is currently on loan at Borussia Dortmund until the end of the season, posted a brilliantly bizarre tweet about his teammate.

Alongside a strange GIF of Kanye West, the Belgian forward tweeted: “I see Ngolo everywhere 😂“

Clearly, he was impressed with Kante’s all-action performance in the second half.

Chelsea fans, needless to say, loved Batshuayi’s tweet…
