Novak snatches Terriers win: Match Review

.

Substitute Lee Novak's stunning winner in the fifth minute of stoppage time clinched a 2-1 victory for Huddersfield at home to Colchester to give them a mathematical chance of automatic promotion on the final day.

Gary Roberts fired in a free-kick from the right which Tom Clarke flicked on and Novak pounced to fire a bullet header into the roof of the net from close range.

It looked as if Huddersfield would have to settle for a draw after Colchester winger Simon Hackney levelled in the 76th minute.

Former Barnsley striker Kayode Odejayi crossed the ball and Hackney tucked the ball away unmarked at the far post.

Striker Theo Robinson put Huddersfield ahead with a 17th-minute penalty awarded for Paul Reid's handball, taking his goal tally to 16 from only 16 starts this season.

Novak's winner was tough luck on Colchester, who had the best of the play and the chances but could not take them.
