Zinedine Zidane has been heavily criticised by football fans for his decision to send on Dani Ceballos with just seconds remaining of Real Madrid’s 3-1 La Liga victory over Leganes on Wednesday night.Ceballos, who has failed to establish himself as a first-team regular at the Bernabeu following his £14.5 million move from Real Betis last summer, entered the fray with 1:58 of the two minutes stoppage time already completed.Twenty-nine seconds after coming on and without touching the ball once, the Spanish midfielder was walking back off the pitch and heading towards the dressing room.It seemed an entirely unnecessary substitution by Zidane, whose side had a comfortable two-goal cushion and were seconds away from securing all three pointsCeballos could be forgiven if he felt humiliated by the experience.

Madrid deny Zidane meant to embarrass Ceballos

Real Madrid have categorically denied claims that Zidane’s substitution was designed to embarrass Ceballos, telling Marca: "Zidane was a player and would never put a player on for around 30 seconds to mess with him.”

Marca also understand that Zidane apologised to Ceballos, who understandably wasn’t happy after the match had finished.

The internet has shown no mercy to Ceballos

Despite Ceballos’s ordeal, the internet has still reacted by ripping the p*** out of him, you’ll all be stunned to hear.

We’ve seen the heat maps…

Hilarious (but cruel) 'highlight's video emerges

And now one brutal fan - a Real Madrid supporter, no less, judging by his @David_Guti username - has created a video of Ceballos’s performance titled: ‘Dani Ceballos vs. Leganés (Away) • Dribbling skills, passing, assists & goals | 21/2/2018 | HD’.

You can watch it here (try not to laugh!)…

Poor guy.

Madrid take on 15th-placed Alaves at the Bernabeu this weekend. Surely the least Zizou can do is give Ceballos half-hour - if his side are two or three goals up - following the Leganes debacle.
