Liverpool fans really have found a new cult icon in Roberto Firmino.

The Brazilian energiser bunny has really become the complete striker at the Reds this season, a dependable workaholic who has now developed a knack for scoring quite a few goals.

Some critics said he would never be a '20-goal striker', but so far in 2017/18, Firmino has already hit that target in just 35 games in all competitions, notching nine assists as well along the way.

So, when EA Sports announced that the 26-year-old was one of the Premier League names set to feature in their 'Winter Upgrades', Liverpool fans should have been happy, right?

Well, not exactly.

Turns out his new 84-rated Ultimate Team card has not exactly gone down too well for one key reason with fans and to be fair, you can understand why.

LIVERPOOL FANS NOT HAPPY WITH EA

One of the other players to get a rating boost was Chelsea's Alvaro Morata, with the out-of-form Spanish striker being handed a new 85-rated card.

How can EA really justify making him higher than Firmino? Morata may have had a bright start to the season, but in reality, he has been inferior to the Brazilian in virtually every way.

As you can predict, Liverpool fans on Twitter were pretty livid with the decision.

LIVERPOOL FANS REACT

Klopp recently revealed that he even has to tell his star striker to rest, such is his enthusiasm for the game.

“He is a pure footballer — he always wants to play and work,” said Klopp. “For one session in our training camp in Marbella I took him out. He doesn’t rest, so I have to do it for him.

“He is a footballer and he feels best when he is on the pitch. Hopefully it stays like this.”

Maybe if Klopp were in charge of the Fifa ratings, Firmino would be light years ahead of the likes of Morata. Although, the charismatic German would probably rank him higher than both Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo as well.
