People are still talking about this show being cancelled.

It’s well known by now that Talking Smack has not aired on the WWE Network in several after SmackDown Live and 205 Live go off the air due to WWE deciding to cancel the show as a weekly series.

Instead, Talking Smack will continue to air as a post-PPV broadcast. The show, which was hosted by Renee Young and Daniel Bryan, had been on the streaming since last August.

It seems that when Bryan decided to take time off for paternity leave for the birth of his daughter Birdie with his wife and former WWE Superstar Brie Bella, the show went downhill and was not as good as it once was. That most likely led to the downfall of viewership.

Although it was popular with the hardcore fans, it was not with the casual fan, which makes up the majority of viewership for all WWE programming. That includes the WWE Network as well.

There was a report that stated that the reason the show was cut down to only after pay-per-views instead of a weekly show is due to the fact that WWE Chairman Vince McMahon was not being happy with The New Day being on the show before debuting on SmackDown Live.

While the hardest of the hardcore of WWE fans are upset with the company’s decision, you have to look at it from WWE’s standpoint. If people are not watching the show then what’s the point of doing it.

Yes, there has been some popular segments and memorable moments, but it’s just been another show. WWE throws so much programming at its fans that maybe this is a good thing.

You have Raw that is three hours, SmackDown that is two hours, 205 Live that is an hour and then PPV (pay-per-view) events every other Sunday. That is a ton of content.

You always have thousands of hours on the WWE Network and then other promotions to watch such as New Japan Pro Wrestling, TNA Wrestling, and of course Ring of Honor to watch as well.

Young recently appeared on the Sam Roberts Wrestling Podcast and spoke about a range of topics including the show being canceled as a weekly show. Here is what she had to say (transcript courtesy of SportsKeeda):

"I was really upset to lose Talking Smack. Also, working with Bryan was great. That was such an unknown thing for me when we got paired up to do that. It was mostly with Daniel Bryan, sometimes with Shane, but working with Bryan, he is super talented at everything he does. Having him in that host role, who knew how incredible he would be at that? He was such a great co-host with that and also had that, 'I don't give a s**t' attitude, which just made the show so much better".

"When Talking Smack ended I was pretty bummed up about that, but i do hope it comes back at some time. At least there is more kick off shows now, but I would like to bring a show like 'Unfiltered' back as well, something in that world".
